Vadodara: FRC Imposes Rs 10 Lakh Fine On Vibgyor High School

The School Has Been Fined In The Past As Well For Violation Of Rules

The Vadodara Zone FRC (Fee Regulatory Committee) has imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Vibgyor High School located in the Bhayli area. The fine has been imposed as the school is not following the rules of FRC.

Giving information about the matter, Vadodara Zone FRC member Krunal Bhrambhatt said that the school is not following the FRC rules. In the last few months, parents have complained multiple times about the school charging high fees.

He added that the school has been fined of Rs 10 lakh for a number of violations, which include Rs 1 lakh for not putting the fee order issued by the FRC on the school notice board, Rs 1 lakh for charging fees for 2 quarters instead of 1 as per FRC rules, Rs 3 lakh for not submitting proper documents to the investigation committee created by the DEO office after parents’ complaint, and Rs 5 lakh for running a pre-primary school in a single campus and not approving its fees. In this way, a total fine of Rs 10 lakh has been imposed on the school.

The school was given a chance to respond 3 times, but the management could not give a satisfactory or concrete response regarding the matter. Bhrambhatt added that in the history of Vadodara, no school has been fined with this much of amount by the FRC. If any other school does not follow the rules and guidelines of FRC, action will be taken against it. He also appealed the parents to be aware and contact the FRC if the school charges high fees. The FRC and the government are functioning for the benefit of the parents.

There have been cases where action has been taken against any school that is violating the rules or not following the guidelines properly. Parents complain to the concerned authorities and investigations also take place.

Prior to this, the Vibgyor School was fined of Rs 3 lakh by the DEO office in March. Before that, in 2024 as well, the school was fined by the FRC of Rs 2 lakh for charging high fees from parents. In the year 2024-25, the school had charged a fee ranging from Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 2.10 lakh for grades 1 to 12. In which, the FRC had decided an interim fee of Rs 85,000 to Rs 1.78 lakh.

On the other hand, as informed by the FRC members, the school administrators have gone to the court in this issue. The school had also objected to the interim fee. Additionally, the school was given 3 opportunities to be present during the hearing in which the fee was to be set. However, the authorities did not submit proper documents. In the coming days, the final fees of the school will be decided even if the school representative is not present.
