After several days of unseasonal rainfall across multiple districts, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast clear skies and dry weather across Gujarat from Tuesday.
In Ahmedabad, the minimum temperature on Monday settled around 25°C. The city experienced generally clear conditions through the day, with brief spells of light rain in certain areas by evening.
According to official data, 35 talukas across the state recorded rainfall on Sunday. Dwarka in Devbhumi Dwarka district received the highest at 1.5 inches, followed by Bhavnagar with 1 inch. IMD officials confirmed that no further rain is expected in the coming days, bringing relief to residents after weeks of unpredictable showers.
Over the past month, Saurashtra witnessed around 5.5 inches of rainfall, while East-Central Gujarat recorded 3.25 inches. Cumulatively, Gujarat has registered 128 percent of its average seasonal rainfall during the current monsoon cycle. Among the regions, Kutch topped with 150 percent rainfall, followed by South Gujarat at 133 percent.
Monthly data from the IMD shows that the state received an average of 12 inches of rain in June, 10 inches in July, 9.7 inches in August, and 8.75 inches in September, significantly exceeding several regional norms.
With this latest forecast, the state’s unseasonal showers appear to have drawn to a close, paving the way for stable, dry conditions across Gujarat.
