Unseasonal Rains Continue To Lash Amreli, Other Areas

Amid the ongoing summer season in Gujarat, unseasonal rains continue to lash certain parts of the state. On May 12, unseasonal rains along with strong winds were reported in several areas of Amreli. While the rains have caused a cooling atmosphere, there is also a fear of the summer crops getting damaged.
On the other hand, heavy rains were reported in Savarkundla and other nearby areas on Monday (May 12). Moreover, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning occurred at Kanatalav, Hathsani, Charkhadiya, Khambha, and Dhari. This constant rainy atmosphere has proven to be troublesome for the farmers due to the summer crops getting spoiled. Farmers are afraid of suffering heavy losses.

The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, and Amreli on May 12. Whereas, light to medium rainfall is likely to occur at scattered places. Possibilities of thunder are also there in several districts. The wind speed might be at 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.

As of May 13, light to medium rainfall along with thunder is expected to occur at scattered places in Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Vadodara, Anand, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Kutch, Morbi, Surendranagar, Botad, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Rajkot, Gir-Somnath, Junagadh, Porbandar, Jamnagar, and Devbhoomi Dwarka.

Light to medium rainfall along with thunder is likely to occur on May 14 at scattered places in Kutch, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir-Somnath, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad.
