Two Mount Abu Youth Drown in Banas River Near Abu Road

Mount Abu: In a heartbreaking incident, two young men from Mount Abu drowned in the Banas River near Kivarli village, close to Abu Road. The tragedy occurred late on the night of July 20, when the youths had gone to the river for a swim.
According to reports, the two victims, residents of Mount Abu, had visited the river in the evening. While swimming, they accidentally ventured into deep water and were unable to return. When they did not surface for a long time, local villagers alerted the Mount Abu rescue team.
Responding promptly, the rescue team rushed to the scene. Despite the darkness and challenging conditions of the deep river, the team managed to recover both bodies after a lengthy effort late at night.
A case has been registered at the Abu Road Sadar Police Station. The police team also arrived at the location swiftly and has begun an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the drowning and whether any other factors were involved. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. his tragic incident has cast a pall of grief over the communities of Mount Abu and Abu Road.
The tragedy is also a grim reminder of the danger of venturing into any waterbody during the monsoon season.
