
A serious accident has taken place on Kapadvanj-Modasa road. In the triple accident, an ST bus, a truck, and a dumper collided with each other. The accident claimed 2 lives and left over 8 people injured.
Apparently, the accident took place today (June 9) on the Kapadvanj-Modasa state highway near the Pankhiya Chowkdi. The severe collision resulted in heavy damage to all the three vehicles. The front part of the bus got severely damaged. The bus was on its way from Bayad to Kapadvanj.

In the accident, the bus driver lost his life. Additionally, a passenger, who was also a retired ST bus driver, died due to the accident. Both died on the spot. On the other hand, over 8 people got injured. They were shifted to the hospital through the 108 ambulance services.
Kapadvanj Rural Police reached the spot upon learning about the accident, and have started investigations. The accident caused a traffic jam of about 3 km. The police rushed to control the traffic. Kapadvanj Rural PI AR Chaudhary said that 2 people died in the accident, whereas more than 8 people were injured. The injured have been shifted to the Kapadvanj Samuhik Aarogya Kendra for treatment. The police have registered a case and are investigating further.
Road accidents are increasing in the state day by day. Recently, an accident took place between a truck and a bike on Surendranagar-Dhrangadhra highway, in which 3 people lost their lives. On the other hand, in a hit and run case in Rajkot, an old man died. Elsewhere in Bardoli, a biker lost his life in an attempt to overtake a tempo. Such incidents raise concern about road safety and demand the intervention of government to implement safety provisions.
