Tragic Lift Accident Claims Life Of 6 Year Old Child In Bhavnagar, Local Community In Shock

Bhavnagar: A heartbreaking incident in Bhavnagar has raised serious concerns about elevator safety in residential buildings. A 6-year-old child lost his life after getting trapped in an apartment lift at Annapurna Apartments, highlighting the growing risks posed by poorly maintained elevators in urban housing complexes.

According to reports, the child sustained severe injuries after becoming stuck inside the lift. Despite being rushed to the hospital and receiving medical care for two days, he could not survive. The dead body of the child will be given back to the parents after the post-mortem reports. The tragedy has left the local community in shock, with many residents demanding answers and stricter safety measures.

This incident serves as a wake-up call for parents and building authorities alike. In many cases, young children are sent alone in elevators without supervision. A sudden mechanical failure or malfunction can cause panic, injury, or, in the worst cases, death.

This is not an isolated case. Just last month in Padadhari, a town near Rajkot, a 25-year-old factory worker named Alpesh Dhanjibhai Rathod lost his life when his head got caught in a malfunctioning industrial lift at a solar unit. Police have registered a case of accidental death and initiated an investigation.

These recurring tragedies point to a deeper issue, lack of regular maintenance, insufficient safety checks, and general negligence in both residential and industrial settings. It is a stark reminder that safety protocols need to be taken seriously before more lives are lost.
