Three Workers Die Of Drowning In Washing Tank At Jeans Manufacturing Company In Ahmedabad

Tragedy strikes at a jeans manufacturing company in Ahmedabad’s Danilimda, as 3 men die of drowning inside a water tank. The police rushed to the spot upon learning about the incident. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem.

The incident occurred at a jeans manufacturing company near Khodiyarnagar in Danilimda, wherein 3 men died of drowning in a water tank. The deceased have been identified as Sunil Rathva, Vishal Thakor, and Prakash Parmar. The families of the deceased have alleged that the deaths occurred due to the negligence of the company. It has also been claimed that the bodies of the deceased were kept inside the tank throughout the night.

The police reached the spot and sent the bodies to the LG Hospital in Maninagar for post-mortem. All 3 of the deceased were aged between 25 to 30 years. The incident has left the families of the deceased in grief and shock. The police have undertaken investigations in the matter.

According to preliminary information, the workers were working in the night shift, and had gone inside the washing tank to clean it. However, they could not get outside. When the family members got to know about the incident, they rushed to the LG Hospital. Additionally, they accused the company of negligence on the part of the factory management. They further claimed that the company left the workers in a dangerous condition inside the tank.

A police team was deployed to prevent the situation from escalating at the hospital. The family members created a ruckus at the hospital and demanded immediate action against those responsible for the incident. A senior police officer present there said that the bodies had been sent for post-mortem. In addition, investigations were going on to find out the sequence of events and possible lapses in safety protocols. He expressed his disappointment about the incident.

He added that they were investigating the reasons due to which the workers went inside the tank, and whether there were any security provisions there. As of now, the police have registered a case of accidental death and are conducting further investigation into the matter.
