Three Dead, Over 20 Injured After Bus From Ahmedabad To Bhilwara Overturns

Ahmedabad: In a tragic accident early Saturday morning, a private passenger bus en route from Ahmedabad to Bhilwara overturned near Kankroli in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. The mishap claimed the lives of three passengers and left at least 22 others injured, two of them critically.

The incident occurred between 7:30 and 8:30 am on the Bhilwara four-lane highway. According to preliminary reports, the driver of the bus allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to drowsiness. The bus, which was reportedly travelling at high speed on a rough stretch of road, veered off the highway and overturned into a roadside ditch.

Eyewitnesses described the moment of chaos as the speeding vehicle suddenly swerved and toppled. Many passengers were trapped inside the mangled vehicle and were rescued by bystanders before emergency services arrived. The injured were quickly transported to the RK District Hospital in Rajsamand. Passengers in critical condition were referred to MB Hospital in Udaipur for specialised care. Authorities have yet to release the identities of the deceased.

Police officials, including Kankroli station in-charge Hansaram, confirmed that there were 25 passengers onboard. A case of negligence has been registered against the private bus operator and the driver, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

This incident comes close on the heels of a similar crash on April 16 in Rajsamand’s Delwara region, which left 37 people injured, raising serious concerns about road safety and the regulation of private bus services in the area.
