Three Dead, Five Injured As Car Plunges Into Gorge In Maharashtra’s Nandurbar; All Were From Dediyapada

An accident case has come to light, wherein a car fell into a gorge in the Nandurbar district of Maharashtra. Out of the 8 people present in the car, the accident claimed the lives of 3, whereas the other 5 were injured and shifted to the hospital. All of them hail from Dediyapada in Gujarat.
Apparently, 8 people from the Koliwada, Kankala, and Pansar villages of Dediyapada had visited Kolgi in Maharashtra for a bhajan program. They were returning, when the driver lost control of the steering wheel near the Nandurbar district, due to which the car plunged into a gorge.
As a result of the accident, 3 people of the Pansar village of Dediyapada died on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Mohanbhai Bamaniya Vasava (aged 39 years), Jivandas Surdas Vasava (aged 40 years), and Subhashbhai Fuljibhai (aged 48 years).
Such incidents call for immediate measures by the government, along with efforts to improve highway and road infrastructure. In addition, driver awareness is also crucial. With the onset of monsoon, it becomes more important that such areas, where there are gorges and cliffs near highways, appropriate safety provisions are organized to prevent accidents that, in some cases, prove fatal.
