In Kantharpura village of Dahegam taluka of Gandhinagar district, there is an ancient tree named Kabirvad, under which the historic temple of Mahakali Mataji is situated. On Tuesday early morning, the gold eye of the Goddess and other ornaments including the umbrella (chhatra) were stolen from the temple.
Early in the morning, the thieves came, stole the eyes and umbrella of the deity, and fled.

The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera present near the temple. In the footage, it is visible that two thieves came in an Eeco car, committed the theft inside the temple, and fled.
A complaint has been registered at the police station regarding the entire matter. The police are conducting further investigations to catch the culprits.
