Terror attack fallout: 33 flights delayed at Ahmedabad airport; Emirates Dubai flight hit by one-hour delay

New Delhi: Operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad were significantly disrupted after the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to delays in 33 incoming and outgoing flights, according to airport sources. The disruption caused considerable inconvenience to passengers across several routes.
Among the delayed arrivals was an Emirates flight from Dubai, which was delayed by nearly one hour. Other affected inbound flights included those operated by Malaysia Airlines, IndiGo, and Blue Dart, with routes from Delhi, Bhopal, Bengaluru, and Kuala Lumpur reporting delays ranging from 15 to 25 minutes.
Outbound operations from Ahmedabad were also hit, with 28 flights experiencing delays. These included services to key destinations such as Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Kolkata, Goa, Dehradun, Amritsar, Ranchi, Siliguri, Kishangarh, Bangkok, Hanoi, London, and Dubai. The affected carriers included IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India, Akasa Air, VietJet Air, THAI, Blue Dart, Emirates, and DHL.
Notably, VietJet Air’s flight to Da Nang was delayed by over 90 minutes, while Malaysia Airlines’ service to Kuala Lumpur was pushed back by 45 minutes. Passengers at the airport expressed frustration as they were left waiting amid uncertainty.
