Rajkot: Tensions flared in Rajkot as members of the Kshatriya community staged a strong protest following the arrest of community leader Praveensinh Jadeja, widely known as PT Jadeja. Detained under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) late on July 4, 2025. Jadeja’s arrest has sparked outrage among supporters who believe he is being unfairly targeted.
In response, nearly 100 members of the Kshatriya community gathered at Bahumali Bhavan Chowk and marched to the Rajkot District Collector’s office. Holding placards and chanting slogans such as “PT Bapu aage badho, hum tumhare saath hain” and “Jay Bhawani”, protesters submitted a memorandum demanding immediate reconsideration of the legal action taken against Jadeja.
The protestors accused the authorities of misusing PASA against community leaders while ignoring actual offenders. They demanded that the government stop what they called “selective action” and instead initiate legal proceedings against genuine culprits. “This is not just an arrest; it’s an insult to our community,” said one protester during the rally.
Leaders from the Kshatriya community announced plans to consult with representatives across all districts in Gujarat to devise a unified strategy. “This is just the beginning,” one leader warned. “If justice is not served, the movement will intensify statewide.”
Adding fuel to the protest, community member Padminiba Vala shared that Jadeja’s arrest is part of a politically motivated conspiracy. “This is a deliberate attempt to silence those who raised their voice at the Asmita Sammelan. The real conspirator is Jayraj, who holds political power and remains untouched despite serious allegations,” she said. With public demonstrations already underway and talks of larger mobilizations on the horizon, PT Jadeja’s arrest may mark the beginning of a wider agitation.
