Tensions Continue To Linger In Vadodara As Two Schools Receive Bomb Threats In A Single Day

Schools Receive Threat E-mail In The Name Of 'Madras Tigers'

Lately, multiple cases of schools receiving bomb threat e-mails have surfaced in Vadodara. Most recently, the DR Amin School situated in the Akota area has received an e-mail consisting of a bomb threat. Earlier this morning, the Cygnus World School in Harni area also received a bomb threat. A few other schools have also received such threatening e-mails in the past few weeks. This has raised concern, as the lives of students and teachers are at stake.

The DR Amin School received an e-mail that threatened to blow up the school with RDX. The e-mail triggered swift response by the school authorities, who cancelled all the classes. Police teams reached the spot along with the bomb squad and the dog squad. Intensive checking was conducted at the school.

Meanwhile, parents were also informed timely, classes were dismissed, and the students were sent back to their homes. However, the police did not find anything suspicious and assured that everything was safe. With that, the checking was also completed.

Speaking on the issue, DCP Panna Momaya shared that their teams immediately reached the school when they were informed about the message. The message states that RDX is placed in the school which will blow up the entire school, she added. The bomb squad and the dog squad are checking the school thoroughly. The parents had also been informed and students were sent to their homes safely.

On the other hand, Vadodara Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar said that the content of the e-mail is similar to the threatening mails received in the past. However, this time the threat has come from a certain ‘Madras Tigers’.

On Friday morning, the Cygnus World School of the Harni area received an e-mail threatening a blast involving RDX. Notably, Navrachana School of Sama area has also received a bomb threat in the past. The school received a similar threatening e-mail 6 months ago. At that time as well, the police did not find anything suspicious.

Similarly, a Refinery CBSE School of Jawaharnagar area also received a bomb threat. The principal had received an e-mail which stated that a bomb had been placed in the school, which would blast. Teams of the police, the bomb squad, and the dog squad reached the school and conducted search operations for the bomb. Both the Navrachana School and the Refinery School had received the e-mail in the name of Umar Faruq.

As a matter of fact, the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime had arrested IT engineer Rene Joshilda from Chennai, for allegedly sending 13 threatening e-mails. Still after her arrest, cases of bomb threats and threatening e-mails continue.
