Surat Youth Conquer 20,050-Foot Peak, Hoist Tricolor to Promote ‘No Drugs Campaign’

A 12-member mountaineering team from Surat has scaled the 20,050-foot Mount Yunam in Himachal Pradesh’s Pir Panjal range, planting India’s tricolor while promoting an anti-drug awareness campaign. The group overcame extreme low temperatures and treacherous terrain during their May 21-28 expedition organized by Invincible NGO.
The climbers launched their ascent on May 21, reaching the summit on May 28 despite facing oxygen scarcity and glacier-covered routes. At the peak, they unfurled banners reading ‘No Drugs Campaign’ to spread substance abuse awareness among youth. The expedition was fully sponsored by Invincible NGO as part of its anti-drug initiative.
