Surat Man Dies By Suicide, Names Ex-Wife And Her Boyfriend In Heartbreaking Final Videos

Surat: A tragic case has emerged from the Mota Varachha area of Surat, where a young merchant, Jaydeep Satodiya, ended his life allegedly due to prolonged harassment by his ex-wife and her close circle. His final note and emotional video messages have sparked a criminal investigation that has already led to arrests.

Jaydeep had married Sheetal Rathva on October 30, 2023, in a love marriage. However, tensions reportedly escalated soon after, with frequent arguments between Sheetal and Jaydeep and his family. On April 4, while his father was away attending a family function, Jaydeep consumed poison in an open plot near his home. He was rushed to a hospital but did not survive.

Following his death, family members discovered a suicide note in his scooter and three video recordings on his phone, which paint a harrowing picture of his final days. In the videos, a visibly distressed Jaydeep pleads for forgiveness from his parents, expressing that he had been pushed beyond his limits. “I’ve lost everything,” he says, accusing Sheetal, her alleged lover and her companions of falsely implicating him in legal cases, threatening his family, and mentally torturing him. He says he was cornered into taking the drastic step.

Jaydeep also emotionally addresses Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the government to introduce laws that protect men from abuse in relationships, stating that “boys should not have to die to prove they were right.” He revealed that he had once been engaged to someone else but chose to marry Sheetal after she threatened suicide. He claimed to have supported her financially and emotionally, even helping her start an online business. Despite his efforts, Jaydeep said, she allegedly manipulated and mistreated him, often in front of others. Though the couple separated in February, 2024, Sheetal allegedly continued to harass him.

“I gave her love, money, trust—now I have nothing left,” he said tearfully in one of the clips. He named multiple people, including Sheetal’s alleged boyfriend Mohsin alias ‘Tiger’, along with others he claimed conspired against him. The videos also show Jaydeep holding a packet of poisonous medicine, apologizing to his loved ones, and urging them not to mourn his death but instead seek justice.

Based on the evidence, police have filed a case of abetment to suicide against Sheetal, Mohsin, and ten others. Sheetal and Mohsin were apprehended at a local hotel, while efforts are underway to locate the remaining accused. Mohsin, reportedly married and involved in the spice export business with links to Mauritius, is said to have been planning to open a hotel soon.

Authorities are continuing the investigation, with officials urging anyone with further evidence to come forward.
