Stray Pig Mauled Woman In Vadodara, 6 Bites Reported On Her body

Vadodara: In a disturbing incident, a woman was violently attacked by a stray pig in the Manjalpur area of Vadodara. The victim, identified as Kusumben Patel, sustained multiple injuries and has been admitted to Sayaji Hospital for treatment.

Kusumben, who works as a domestic helper, was leaving Gajanand Society after completing her work when the pig suddenly charged at her. The animal knocked her to the ground and bit her five to six times. The attack continued for nearly five minutes, during which Kusumben screamed for help. Local residents rushed to the scene upon hearing her cries and managed to drive the pig away by throwing stones at it. Emergency services were promptly called, and an ambulance transported her to the hospital in serious condition.

Residents have expressed growing concerns over the increasing menace of stray animals in the city. While cases involving stray dogs have become common, an attack by a pig has shocked the community. Local sources allege that certain individuals continue to illegally rear pigs in open plots behind Akashvani near Chitrakoot Crossroads, despite repeated eviction attempts by the municipal corporation. These pigs are often abandoned in areas like Manjalpur and Makarpura, posing a threat to public safety.

With stray cattle already under municipal regulation, citizens are now urging authorities to implement similar measures to control the stray pig population.
