Amreli: In a shocking hit-and-run incident in Amreli city, a speeding car plowed into three pedestrians near inside the Civil Hospital campus of the city. According to reports, the driver, after hitting the youths, reversed the vehicle and ran over one of them again. Two of the victims sustained serious injuries and were immediately referred to Rajkot for medical treatment. Notably, the entire incident was caught on CCTV which has now become a crucial proof in the incident.
The accident took place at night inside Amreli’s Civil Hospital. The reckless driver struck three young men who were walking along the road. In a disturbing act, the driver reversed the car and crushed one of the injured victims under the wheels before fleeing the scene. Authorities have confirmed that the injured youths were shifted to Rajkot for further care.
Driver Also Hit Hospital Medical Vehicle
Adding to the recklessness, after hitting the pedestrians, the same vehicle also collided with a hospital medical vehicle. Police have collected CCTV footage from the scene and have launched an investigation. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding driver.
This incident underscores growing concerns about road safety and the need for stricter enforcement against reckless driving in Gujarat.
