Severely Injured Dead Body Of Newborn Baby Found On Riverbank In Godhra

Godhra: A disturbing incident unfolded in Segva village of Godhra Taluka, where the severely injured body of a newborn baby was discovered along the banks of the Kun River on the afternoon of May 31. The shocking discovery made around 2 PM was initially reported by local resident Sunilbhai Baria to another villager, Kiransingh Nayak.

Upon investigation, authorities found that the lower part of the infant’s body and parts of the face had been mutilated, likely by wild animals. The body was covered with cloth and transported to the Godhra Civil Hospital in a private vehicle. P.K. Asoda, the Police Inspector of Godhra Taluka Police Station, confirmed that the remains were sent for post-mortem at Godhra Civil Hospital. Following the autopsy, DNA analysis will be conducted. Police have also begun checking nearby hospitals for any leads.

Due to the severe damage caused by animals, it has not yet been determined whether the newborn was a boy or a girl. Preliminary investigations suggest that an unknown woman may have abandoned the baby in the river to hide an unwanted or illegal birth. Police have filed a case against an unidentified individual and launched a full investigation into the matter.

This deeply disturbing case raises serious concerns about illegal pregnancies and child abandonment in the region.
