Renowned Rajkot Builder Bishu Vala Dies By Suicide At Native Village

Rajkot: Prominent Rajkot-based builder and financier Bishu Vala, 62, died by suicide early Sunday morning at his ancestral home in Bhangda village near Rajkot. According to initial police reports, he shot himself with his licensed revolver while seated in a temple at his residence.
The sound of the gunshot alerted family members and nearby villagers, who rushed to the scene. Vala was found dead on the spot. Officers from Ajidam Police Station and Sardhar Police quickly arrived, carried out a preliminary investigation, and sent the body to Rajkot Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Vala had been battling a severe ulcer-related illness for some time and was reportedly under considerable mental distress. Sources indicate he had also been receiving treatment for psychological issues. It is believed that his ongoing health struggles and resulting emotional toll may have driven him to take this drastic step.
Vala, originally from Bhangda but settled in Rajkot, was a well-known and respected figure in the city’s finance and real estate sectors. His sudden demise has left his family, friends, and the business community in deep mourning. The news of his death spread rapidly across Rajkot, prompting many to gather at the hospital and express their condolences. Family members and relatives have been left devastated by the incident, and tributes continue to pour in from those who knew him personally and professionally.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident from all angles. While illness-related stress appears to be a key factor, officers are also looking into any possible financial or personal pressures that might have contributed. Statements from family members, friends, and business associates are being recorded to establish the full context behind the tragedy. ACP R.S. Bariya confirmed that the suicide took place around 4 a.m. at Vala’s farmhouse in Bhangda.
