Rajkumar Jat Case: Accused Ganesh Gondal’s Narco Test Completed At Gandhinagar FSL, Report To Be Submitted To HC On December 15

The narco analysis test of Ganesh Gondal, an accused in the Gondal Rajkumar Jat case, has been completed at the Gandhinagar FSL. Gondal underwent mandatory medical examination before the test. The narco test results could lead to fresh revelations in the case, potentially bringing a new turn to the Rajkumar Jat investigation. The SIT will present its report to the Gujarat High Court on December 15.

Family Alleges Murder, Not Accident

The deceased Rajkumar Jat’s family members have leveled serious allegations against former Gondal MLA Jayrajsinh Jadeja and his son Ganesh Jadeja, claiming the incident was murder rather than an accident. A petition was filed in the Rajkot Judicial Magistrate Court seeking permission to conduct a narco test in this matter.

Ganesh Jadeja Consents, Bus Driver Refuses

Responding to the petition, Ganesh Jadeja gave his consent before the court to undergo the narco test, based on which the court ordered the procedure. However, the court did not grant approval for the narco test of Ramesh Mer, the driver of the bus that allegedly struck Rajkumar, considering the driver’s age.

SIT to Submit Report to High Court

Meanwhile, crucial days lie ahead for the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to probe this case. The SIT will submit its progress report on the investigation to the Gujarat High Court on December 15. Legal and political observers across the state are closely watching what new disclosures may emerge from this report and the direction the police investigation is taking.

What is Narco Test and How Admissible is Evidence in Court?

Police request a narco test when they believe the accused is lying and not cooperating with the investigation. However, no narco test can be conducted without the accused’s consent. In narco analysis, necessary medication is administered to the accused after a medical examination. Subsequently, relevant questions about the case are asked while the person is in a semi-conscious state. The entire process is video recorded and conducted in the presence of senior doctors and officials. The test results are not directly admissible as evidence in court. However, if information obtained during the narco test leads to discovery of new evidence or case-related material, it becomes admissible under Section 27 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872.

What Was the Incident?

Ratanlal Shankarlal Jat, who resides in Gaytrinagar, Gondal and runs a pav bhaji business, alleged that on March 2, he and his son Rajkumar were talking loudly about going home while passing in front of former MLA Jayrajsinh Jadeja’s bungalow. They were stopped and beaten by Ganesh Jadeja along with 7-10 people. Later, both of them went home. However, due to being wrongfully beaten, his son Rajkumar went to the former MLA’s bungalow again that same night to file a complaint, but subsequently went missing mysteriously. The local Gondal police were informed about this. A written complaint was then submitted to the Rajkot SP, after which Gondal police began their investigation.
