The court rejected discharge applications from eight of the accused, including the primary suspect, Dhaval Thakkar, who remains a fugitive. The tragedy was attributed to gross negligence, such as the absence of a fire safety No Objection Certificate, inadequate fire safety equipment, and a single exit in the gaming facility, which worsened the disaster’s impact. The case continues to draw public scrutiny due to the preventable nature of the incident and the significant loss of life.
