
Ahmedabad – Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi arrived in Gujarat for a two-day visit focused on reinforcing the party’s organization and preparing for future elections. Landing at Ahmedabad airport at around 10:30 AM, he quickly made his way to the Congress office and held a key meeting with regional party leaders at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan.
During the meeting, top figures including General Secretary KC Venugopal, Gujarat in-charge Mukul Wasnik, Gujarat Congress President Shaktisinh Gohil, and Assembly Opposition Leader Amit Chavda discussed updates to the party’s organizational structure and strategic plans. The discussions also covered preparations for the upcoming Congress National Convention and the 2027 assembly elections.
Rahul Gandhi’s schedule is packed, with five meetings planned over nine hours. In addition to strategic discussions, he will engage with party workers and local leaders at district and booth levels to boost grassroots support. A significant highlight of the visit is the announcement that, for the first time in 64 years, the Congress National Convention will be held in Gujarat on April 8-9, 2025 a key event in the party’s reorganization efforts.
This intensive Gujarat yatra underscores the Congress party’s renewed focus on strengthening its regional structure to better challenge the long-dominant BJP in the state.
