Pre-Monsoon Rains to Hit Gujarat from May 22, Heavy Showers Predicted

Ahmedabad: Gujarat’s weather is undergoing continuous changes, with temperatures in cities like Ahmedabad soaring to around 40°C. Meanwhile, the weather department has forecast light to moderate rainfall in several districts over the next two days.
Rajkot Remains Hottest in the State
According to the meteorological department, heatwave conditions persist across Gujarat, with maximum temperatures ranging from 33.4°C to 40.7°C. Rajkot recorded the highest temperature at 40.7°C, while Dwarka and Mahuva saw milder temperatures at 33.4°C.
Weather Dept Predicts More Rain
The IMD has issued fresh rainfall alerts, predicting thunderstorms and showers in North Gujarat’s Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Kheda, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, and Mahisagar districts in the next 48 hours. Light to moderate rain is also expected today in Rajkot, Botad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Anand, Kheda, Aravalli, Sabarkantha, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Vadodara, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Valsad, Tapi, and Navsari districts.
Rainfall Intensity to Increase After May 22
As per the IMD, rain intensity will rise after May 22, with thunderstorms and strong winds expected across multiple districts. Widespread rainfall is also predicted for May 23.
