PM Modi’s Gujarat Visit: Key Stops & Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on May 26, marking his first trip to the state since the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and the May 7 Operation Sindoor. The visit will include stops in Bhuj (Kutch) and Dahod, where he will inaugurate the Locomotive Rolling Stock Workshop.

District officials in Dahod and Kutch confirmed preparations are underway for the PM’s public addresses in both locations. The Dahod administration held a high-level meeting to coordinate logistics with railway authorities, as the workshop’s inauguration is a major event. The facility, with a ₹20,000 crore investment, will manufacture 9,000-horsepower high-speed freight engines.

PM Modi had laid the workshop’s foundation in April 2022. In March 2024, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the site, noting the prototype locomotive 89% indigenous and equipped with KAVACH tech was undergoing trials. Vaishnaw stated production would begin within three years, positioning Dahod as a global hub.

In Bhuj, Modi is expected to visit the Ashapura shrine and Mata no Madh. Kutch officials are also preparing for a potential stop at the Bhuj Air Force base post-Operation Sindoor.

Kutch BJP MP Vinod Chavda and MoS Praful Pansheriya reviewed event arrangements, including a dome for the public gathering. Pansheriya later discussed preparations with district officials, as shared on X.
