The Teachers Are Protesting In A Unique Way By Performing Exercises

The protest of the Physical Education Teachers is going on for the sixteenth day at the Satyagrah Chhavni in Gandhinagar. The teachers are protesting the issue of non-recruitment of Physical Education Teachers in a unique way by performing physical exercises.

The Physical Education Teachers went to the secretariat in Gandhinagar today and made a strong protest. During the protest, 2 teachers were injured in a clash with the police, and thus were rushed to the hospital. The other teachers were lifted by their hands and legs and taken to a police van.

For the past few days, more than 500 Physical Education Teachers have been protesting in Gandhinagar, demanding an end to the recruitment of sports assistants based on 11-month contracts and the recruitment of permanent Physical Education Teachers.

According to sources, the Office of the State Project Director, Education Department, Government of Gujarat had conducted the Sports Aptitude Test (SAT). In which, 1700 eligible candidates, who had completed Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE), BPED, MPED-MPE, passed the exam, which had 5000 vacancies.

It is being said that 1465 Khel Sahayaks were renewed, while it has been revealed that more than 3100 positions are vacant. Meanwhile, protests to end the contract based recruitment of Physical Education Teachers, and introducing permanent recruitment of the same are going on in the state by the Physical Education Teachers.
