One More Dead Body Recovered From Crashed Plane’s Tail In Ahmedabad, Believed To Be Air Hostess

Ahmedabad: In another grim discovery, one more dead body has been recovered from the wreckage of the plane that crashed in Ahmedabad on June 12, killing 241 of the 242 people on board. The body, retrieved from the aircraft’s tail section, is believed to be that of a female air hostess who was part of the ill-fated flight crew.

The aircraft had crashed into the rear portion of the Atulyam Hostel, which had been arranged for students of BJ Medical College. Early this morning, a team from the Ahmedabad Fire Brigade conducted a rescue operation at the crash site, cutting through the mangled debris of the tail section using specialized equipment. After extensive effort, a firefighter managed to reach deep inside the wreckage, cut through the front panel, and secure the body with ropes.

The remains were carefully pulled out through the roof of the hostel building. Wrapped in cloth and tied securely, the body was then lowered to the ground using ropes. The identity is yet to be confirmed, but initial indications suggest the victim may have been a crew member on duty during the flight. The body has been transferred for the post-mortem reports.

The Air India flight, bound for London, was carrying 242 individuals, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British, 7 Portuguese, 1 Canadian citizen, and 12 crew members. Only one person is known to have survived the catastrophic crash. Search and recovery operations are ongoing, with authorities continuing efforts to locate and identify all victims of the tragedy from the accident site.

A team from the National Security Guard (NSG) has been deployed to assist in relief operations at the site in Ahmedabad, where at least 265 people lost their lives, news agency PTI reported on Saturday morning.
