On Camera, Drunk Law Student Kills Woman In Vadodara, Screams “Another Round”

Vadodara: A woman has died and several others were injured in a horrific accident in the Karelibagh area of Vadodara on Thursday. A speeding car, driven by a law student reportedly under the influence of alcohol, crashed into multiple vehicles.

Police have identified the driver as Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, a student at MS University. According to police reports, Chaurasia lost control of the car while driving under the influence of alcohol.

CCTV Captures High-Speed Crash

The shocking incident was captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV) near Amrapali Complex. Footage shows the car traveling at an estimated speed of over 100 kilometers per hour. Witnesses said the car took a sudden sharp turn, causing many people to run for safety, but some were unable to get out of the way in time. The reckless driving resulted in the immediate death of one woman and serious injuries to four or five other individuals. The injured victims were quickly taken to a hospital for treatment.

Rakshit Chaurasia was accompanied in the vehicle by Pranshu Chauhan, who owns the car. Following the crash, Chaurasia was seen exiting the heavily damaged black car in an intoxicated state. A video circulating online shows Chauhan, wearing a white T-shirt, getting out of the car and reportedly saying he wasn’t involved and that Chaurasia was driving. Meanwhile, Chaurasia, wearing a black T-shirt and still inside the vehicle, was calling out to his friend.

Eyewitnesses reported that as a crowd gathered, Chaurasia behaved erratically, repeatedly shouting “Another round, Another round,” followed by a girl’s name, “Nikita, Nikita,” and then chanting “Om Namah Shivay.” Angered by his actions, bystanders reportedly assaulted him until police officers arrived and took control of the situation. Local police have arrested Rakshit Chaurasia, and they are currently searching for Pranshu Chauhan, who fled the scene after the accident.

Police Investigation Underway

The car involved in the fatal crash is registered to Deon Technology Pvt Ltd. Senior police officials, along with local leaders from the BJP, including the city president and the area’s Member of Parliament, visited the accident site after it occurred.

Joint Commissioner of Police Leena Patil confirmed to the media that the driver was drunk. “A four-wheeler rammed into a two-wheeler, and one woman died in the accident. The accused driver has been apprehended. The police are conducting further investigation… this is a clear case of drunk driving,” she stated.

The tragic incident led to the cancellation of the Rangotsav program, a Holi celebration that was taking place in the area. Police are conducting a thorough investigation into all aspects of the incident, including verifying the extent of alcohol consumption and any other factors that may have contributed to the crash.
