As per sources, the 20-year-old water tank of the Water Supply Department collapsed suddenly. The cause of the collapse remains unknown. The water tank had a capacity of around 10 lakh litres, and it supplied drinking water to 7 surrounding villages.

Due to the collapse, lakhs of litres of water got wasted. Moreover, the Khambha-Nageshri highway also got flooded, resulting in the road getting shut down for the commuters. In addition, the construction on the road collapsed due to the strong flow of the water.

Owing to the water tank collapse, the Water Supply Department is busy making alternative arrangements for supplying water to the 7 surrounding villages, so that they are not left stranded with a deficit of water.
