
A massive fire broke out in a plastic godown in Kheda today afternoon. The fire eventually took a fierce form, engulfing the nearby huts. Dark clouds of smoke erupted into the sky as the fire became uncontrollable. The Kheda and Nadiad fire brigade teams rushed to the spot upon learning about the incident in order to control the fire.
The Kheda and Nadiad fire brigade teams are being assisted by teams of Dholka fire brigade, Ahmedabad fire brigade, ONGC fire brigade, Mahemdavad fire brigade, Chiripal Company’s fire brigade, among others. A total of 8 to 10 fire fighters are working hard to control the fire.
As the incident took place, the Kheda Town PI, Kheda Provincial Officer, and Matar MLA reached the spot. A hut adjacent to the godown also got engulfed in the ferocious fire. Luckily, no casualties have been reported till now. However, it is being speculated that the fire might have caused heavy losses.


Crowds of people have gathered outside the godown. Meanwhile, due to safety purposes, electric supply has been shut off at the incident site and the surrounding areas. Firefighters are making constant efforts to control the fire with the help of water browsers. People living in the nearby slum areas have also been shifted to safer places.
