Massive Drug Bust Off by Gujarat ATS; Cocaine Worth Rs 1,000 Crore Seized, Three Foreign Nationals Arrested
Gandhinagar: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Indian security agencies seized a massive consignment of cocaine valued at nearly Rs 1,000 crore off the coast of Kutch in Gujarat. According to reports published by The Times of India, three foreign nationals were also taken into custody during the operation.
The joint operation was reportedly conducted by central agencies and coastal security units after receiving intelligence inputs regarding suspicious maritime activity in the Arabian Sea region.
Cocaine Recovered From Vessel
Officials recovered a large quantity of cocaine from a vessel intercepted near the Kutch coastline. Preliminary investigations suggested that the narcotics consignment was being transported through sea routes for illegal distribution.
Authorities stated that the seized drugs have an estimated international market value of around Rs 1,000 crore, making it one of the major narcotics seizures in recent times along the western coast.

Three Foreign Nationals Held
During the operation, agencies arrested three foreign nationals allegedly connected to the smuggling network. Investigators are now questioning the accused to trace the origin of the consignment and identify possible links to international drug trafficking syndicates.
Officials are also examining whether the seized shipment was intended for delivery within India or meant to be routed to another destination.
Investigation Underway
Security and intelligence agencies have launched a detailed probe into the case. Authorities are expected to investigate the broader network involved in the operation, including maritime routes, handlers, and financial connections tied to the smuggling racket.
According to media reports, agencies continue to remain on high alert along the Gujarat coastline due to repeated attempts by traffickers to use sea routes for transporting narcotics into the country.
