Tragic Suicide Attempt Claims Couple’s Lives, Leaves Three Children Hospitalized in Gujarat

A devastating incident unfolded in Vadali town, Sabarkantha district, where a couple perished after they and their three teenage children allegedly ingested a toxic substance in a suspected suicide attempt, police reported on Sunday.

Authorities have yet to determine the precise motive behind the family’s actions, according to a Vadali police station official.

On Saturday morning, the couple and their children two sons and a daughter began vomiting, prompting neighbors to summon an ambulance. The family was initially taken to a private hospital before being transferred to the civil hospital in Himmatnagar by afternoon, the official stated. Tragically, the couple succumbed during treatment.

The deceased were identified as Vinu Sagar, 42, and Kokilaben, 40. Their children, a 19-year-old daughter and sons aged 17 and 18, remain under medical care, police said.

Vadali police have recorded the case as an accidental death and are investigating to uncover the reasons behind the family’s drastic decision, the official added
