Mahant Attacked On Stage In Front of Thousands During Kutch Mass Wedding | Watch Video

Kutch: A mass wedding ceremony turned violent in Gujarat’s Kutch district when a well-known religious leader was assaulted on stage in front of a large crowd. The incident occurred during the 18th Guru Garva community group wedding in Nagalpar village, Nakhatrana taluka.

Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj of the Kukma Ashram had been invited as a guest of honor and was seated on stage alongside other dignitaries. As the felicitation ceremony was underway, advocate Ramnik Garva from Mandvi allegedly stormed the stage and launched a physical attack on the Mahant, stunning the thousands of attendees present. Despite prior warnings and a visible police presence at the venue, the attack still took place, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of the security measures.

According to community leaders, tensions leading up to the event had been escalating. Just four days before the function, organizers alerted the police about provocative messages circulating in WhatsApp groups. These messages, allegedly shared by the accused, included threats aimed at disrupting the wedding and insulting guests.

Following the incident, Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj lodged a formal police complaint, accusing seven individuals of attempted murder. Those named include Ramnik Garva and six associates: Vishal Ravlal Garva (Mirjapar, Bhuj), Deepak Tulsi Garva (Angiya, Nakhatrana), Prakash Devji Garva (Mathal, Nakhatrana), Bhadresh Bhavanbhai Garva (Madhapar, Bhuj), Dhaval Hirabhai Dave (Nakhatrana), and Bharat Punjabhai Garva (Nakhatrana).

This is not the first time the Mahant and the primary accused have clashed. Over a year ago, the mahant had filed a police complaint against Ramnik Garva for allegedly confronting and threatening him at his ashram. That case had been registered at the Paddhar police station.
