Kutch Murder: Was a Mobile Game the Deadly Trigger? Friends Under Probe

Kutch – A wave of shock and fear has gripped Bela village in Rapar taluka of Kutch after a 12-year-old boy was brutally murdered with a sharp weapon. The incident came to light on Tuesday afternoon when authorities were alerted to the discovery of the minor’s body near the garden of Bileshwar Mahadev temple in Bela village.
The victim has been identified as Praveen Nameri Rathod, a 12-year-old resident of Aliyaji village, which is part of Bela. His body was found in a bloodied state and showed signs of severe injuries from a sharp weapon. He was quickly taken to Rapar Government Hospital, but tragically, he was declared dead.
Following a report from Praveen’s brother, Balasar police conducted a postmortem examination and officially registered a murder case. The brutal nature of the crime, especially targeting a young teenager, has created significant concern in the community and prompted an intensive police investigation.
Investigators revealed that Praveen had been stabbed in the neck with a sharp weapon. He also sustained deep defensive wounds on his palms and a serious wound to his stomach, indicating a violent struggle.
As of now, the motive for this brutal attack remains unknown. Police sources have indicated that they are questioning three young individuals in connection with the murder. It is believed that one of these individuals may be related to the victim, and all three suspects are also minors.
According to Praveen’s brother, the young victim was a sixth-grade student. On the day of the incident, Praveen had accompanied his family to harvest cumin in the fields in the morning. Later in the afternoon, he went to play with friends in a garden near the Bileshwar Mahadev temple, close to his home. Local sources suggest that the attack was not random and that there was a specific reason behind the murder.
In response to the gravity of the situation, the Deputy Superintendent of Police from Bhachau immediately traveled to Bela village to oversee the investigation.
