Junagadh Man Dies By Suicide 25 Days After Marriage, Blames Wife And Her Uncle In Video

Junagadh: A 25-day-old marriage ended in tragedy as a young man from Junagadh allegedly died by suicide, leaving behind a five-minute video and a detailed suicide note accusing his wife and her maternal uncle of mentally harassing him and forcing him into extreme distress.

The deceased, identified as Piyush Gohil, had married on May 8. Within days of the wedding, his wife Chandni left for her parental home and refused to return despite multiple efforts by Piyush and his family. In the video recorded shortly before his death, Piyush claimed that his wife and her uncle, Vijay Durlabhjibhai Solanki, ruined his life. He emotionally stated that his soul would not find peace until justice is served and they are punished.

According to Piyush, his wife demanded that he move to Jetpur and live as a ‘ghar jamai’ (live-in son-in-law), saying she was uncomfortable staying with his parents and sister. He alleged that this pressure, along with repeated rejection and humiliation, pushed him to take the drastic step.

In both the video and the suicide note, Piyush insisted that he was not a “wayward” young man and had done everything possible to keep his wife happy, even going out of his way to install an air conditioner despite financial constraints. He claimed that her uncle consistently prevented any reconciliation attempts and manipulated her into staying away.

Piyush pleaded that his message be taken seriously to prevent such incidents from happening to others and urged for strict action against the accused. In his final words, he appealed to his family not to blame themselves and asked his younger brother to take care of their parents.

Following the incident, local police have registered the case and are investigating based on the video and suicide note. Senior officials have taken the matter seriously, and further legal proceedings are underway. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting concerns around emotional abuse in marriages and the lack of support systems for young men in distress.
