Jigisha Patel Responds To Opposition With ‘Gandhigiri’, Garlands Protesters In Gondal

Gondal: Political tensions in Gondal continue to escalate following a heated verbal clash between Ganesh Jadeja and Alpesh Kathiriya. After Jadeja’s open challenge at the Sultanpur Sabha, Kathiriya and Jigisha Patel arrived in Gondal, where they were met with strong protests from Jadeja’s supporters. As the protests unfolded, Jigisha Patel adopted an unexpected strategy. Rather than retaliating or confronting the protesters, Patel chose to respond with ‘Gandhigiri’, garlanding several of those opposing her.

This symbolic act drew attention from both political circles and local residents. During the gesture, Patel’s supporters raised slogans of “Jai Sardar”. The political environment in Gondal has remained tense since the Sultanpur Sabha incident. Ganesh Jadeja, addressing his supporters earlier, had indirectly challenged Alpesh Kathiriya and Varun Patel to visit Gondal. Kathiriya, responding to the challenge via social media, announced his visit to the city, leading to heightened security concerns.

Upon their arrival, both Alpesh Kathiriya and Jigisha Patel faced opposition at multiple points across Gondal. Protesters gathered in large numbers, voicing their dissent. In one such incident, Kathiriya’s car was attacked, with the vehicle’s windows reportedly damaged during the confrontation. The attack further intensified the already charged atmosphere, prompting authorities to tighten security measures across the city.

Alpesh Kathiriya had previously stated that he and Jigisha Patel would remain in Gondal for the entire day. However, despite his assertion, they arrived at around 10 a.m. and left by 11:30 a.m., facing heavy opposition during their brief stay.

Kathiriya, during his visit, compared Gondal’s current political climate to “Mirzapur,” implying a breakdown of law and order, with certain individuals controlling the city’s situation. His remarks about Gondal being like Mirzapur were met with mixed reactions, with supporters of his political camp backing the comparison, while Jadeja’s supporters rejected it.
