ISRO Proposes New Space Centre in Gujarat, CM Responds Positively

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is looking to establish a new major centre in Gujarat and has sought land from the state government for the project. ISRO Chairman Dr V. Narayanan presented the proposal during his meeting with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit on Thursday.

Dr Narayanan highlighted ISRO’s recent successes, including the launch of over 90 satellites in the past 11 years, and praised the contributions of the Space Applications Centre in Ahmedabad. The Chief Minister assured the space agency of the government’s supportive stance toward the initiative.

The summit also saw Indian Air Force Group Captain and Gaganyaan mission astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla meet the CM, who congratulated him on his achievements in India’s space programme.
