IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall In Gujarat For Next 4 Days; Alerts Issued In More Than 10 Districts

As monsoon has begun in full swing in Gujarat, several regions are experiencing scattered rainfall on a daily basis. Some parts of Ahmedabad witnessed medium rainfall on Friday (July 11). Amid such conditions, the IMD has predicted heavy rainfall till July 16. Particularly in North Gujarat, heavy rainfall will take place for the next 4 days.

As of today (July 12), a yellow alert has been issued in Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, and Panchmahal districts.

July 13- An orange alert has been issued due to very heavy rainfall in Aravalli and Mahisagar districts for July 13. On the other hand, a yellow alert has been issued in Amreli, Bhavnagar, Kheda, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Banaskantha, and Sabarkantha districts due to heavy rainfall.

July 14-15 – The weather department has issued a yellow-orange alert in 10 districts of North Gujarat for July 14 and July 15, due to heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorm. These districts include Patan, Mehsana, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Panchmahal, Navsari, and Valsad.

July 16- Yellow alert has been issued in scattered districts of Sabarkantha and Banaskantha owing to heavy rainfall.

Regional Forecast for July 10–17

Kutch: Rainfall intensity may decrease slightly.

North Gujarat: Aravalli may see heavier rain, while Patan and Banaskantha’s western areas could experience lighter showers.

Central-East Gujarat: Mahisagar, Dahod, and Panchmahal may see stronger rainfall, while Ahmedabad, Kheda, and Anand are likely to get normal showers.

Saurashtra: Above-normal rainfall is expected, particularly in Dwarka, Porbandar, Jamnagar, and Rajkot, though coastal areas may see reduced intensity after July 10. South Gujarat: Above-normal rainfall is forecast until July 17, with a possible decrease in the second half of the month.
