A strange incident has surfaced in Ahmedabad’s Odhav, where a wanted accused climbed onto the ledge of the fifth floor of an apartment in order to avoid getting caught by the police. The accused got down after 3 hours of persuasion.
The incident occurred in the Shivam Aawas Yojana flats in Odhav. Apparently, the accused is wanted in a case of kidnapping. Owing to which, a team of the Ahmedabad City Crime Branch had reached the Aawas Yojana flats to nab the accused.
To avoid getting arrested, the accused ran away and got up on the ledge of the fifth floor of the apartment through the balcony. Once there, he shouted that if the police tries to arrest him, then he would jump from there. He claimed that the police had allegedly inserted false clauses in the complaint filed against him, and thus he was being framed.
Such visuals created a tense atmosphere. People started recording videos of the incident. On the other hand, the fire brigade was also called for assistance. The accused firmly kept saying that he would jump down from the fifth floor if the police arrested him. He also told the police to remove the false clauses held against him. The accused, identified as Abhishek, was reportedly persuaded and talked into for 3 hours. Eventually, he understood, and got down.
The police have initiated further investigations as the accused has now come down. Tricks like these played by accused and wanted people create hardships for the police and other authorities in the investigation process.
