“I Wanted To Stay Away From Felicitation, Not Government”: Vikram Thakor Responds After Assembly Session Ends

The Actor States Reason For Not Attending Despite Getting Invited

A few days ago, famous actors from Gujarat were invited to watch the political proceedings taking place at the Gujarat Legislative Assembly House in Gandhinagar. However, a controversy arose as actors from the Thakor community, including Vikram Thakor, were not invited.

As a result, actor Vikram Thakor expressed disappointment; following which the government invited more than 1000 artists and actors from across the state, from the Thakor community, including Vikram Thakor, to observe the proceedings of the Assembly on March 26-27. However, Vikram did not attend the event despite being invited. On the other hand, former Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, contacted Vikram through Isudan Gadhvi.

Now, after the Assembly session has got over, a response has come from Vikram’s side where he has said that he wanted to stay away from the felicitation, and not government. Addressing the entire matter, he said that he had not raised the issue for himself, but for the Kshatriya community and every other community as well. He added that if he would have attended the Assembly, the message would have come out among the people that Vikram Thakor wanted to be felicitated.

He further said that he wanted to stay away from the felicitation, and stated that he has good relations with leaders of every party and will always be with them. He remarked that if any leader invited him for a congratulatory meeting, he would go, not because of politics, but as an artist. He expressed about not having any problem in going to Delhi and meeting Kejriwal, Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Amit Shah, or the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Vikram’s stance on politics

Vikram mentioned about the involvement of a political touch in the issue raised by him. He firmly stated that he did not want to get involved in politics as of now. On the issue of joining politics, he said that he had received a call from Arvind Kejriwal, who also invited him to meet if he visited Delhi. Though Vikram is getting calls from leaders of every party, he firmly states his decision of not joining any party, saying that he is an artist and all parties are same for him.
