Heist in Diamond City: Thieves Steal Over ₹20 Crore in Gems and Cash from Surat Firm, Disappear with CCTV System

SURAT: In a daring heist, thieves took advantage of the Janmashtami holiday to rob a diamond company in Surat, the “Diamond City.” The criminals broke into D.K. & Sons Diamond Company in the Kapodra area, using a cutter to slice open a safe and steal diamonds and cash valued at over ₹20 crore.
According to initial reports, the perpetrators capitalized on the recent three-day public holiday to execute the high-value theft. After successfully breaching the company office’s safe, they not only stole the diamonds and cash but also removed the CCTV cameras and the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) system to erase evidence of their presence before escaping.

As soon as the incident was reported, local police and the Surat City Crime Branch rushed to the scene to begin their investigation. Top officials, including the DCP and ACP, have also arrived at the location, accompanied by a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to collect evidence.
