Ahmedabad: Continuous heavy rainfall over the past two days has left several areas of Ahmedabad waterlogged, with multiple incidents of building collapses reported on Sunday (September 7). At least four houses caved in across different neighbourhoods, leaving five people injured.
According to officials, one of the major incidents occurred in Dariyapur’s Ali Kumbhar locality, where three adjoining houses collapsed after a wall gave way. Five people were trapped under the debris but were later rescued by fire department teams and shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Similar house collapse incidents were also reported from Mandvi ni Pol, Baherampura’s Gautam Nagar crossroads, and Shahpur, following incessant rains.
