Gujarat’s Cabinet Expansion Likely To Take Place By April 7

CJ Chavda, Arjun Modhvadia Might Be Included

After the completion of Gujarat’s Assembly session, discussions related to the expansion of the state government’s cabinet have gained momentum.

As of now, apart from the chief minister, the government has 8 cabinet ministers and 8 state-level ministers. Sources state that more members will be added.

Veteran BJP leaders are expressing disappointment over the positions that are being given to the Congress leaders. Still, as per the orders of the High Command and the promise given to the former Congress leaders, the latter will be added to the cabinet.

Meanwhile, during this process of cabinet expansion, two of the four former Congress ministers present in the current cabinet will be removed. In their place, CJ Chavda and Arjun Modhvadia will be added.

A source suggests that future ministers have been given an overview about the cabinet expansion which is going to take place.

On the other hand, the High Command has not yet taken any final decision regarding the BJP State President.

The cabinet expansion will also observe the reshuffling of the important portfolios of the state government. In which, the burden of the ministers who carry excessive responsibilities will be lessened, and other ministers will be given responsibility.

It is likely that the cabinet expansion will take place around April 7.

This matter has become the talk of the town at the Gandhinagar Secretariat as well. In the new cabinet, it is also possible that responsibilities be given to the young leaders who were earlier in Congress, but are now a part of BJP.

This will ensure representation of the youth in the cabinet.
