Ahmedabad: As part of the recruitment process for the posts of Police Sub Inspector (Wireless), Technical Operator, Police Sub Inspector (Motor Transport), and Head Constable Driver Mechanic (Grade-1) in the Gujarat Police force, a written examination will be held in Ahmedabad on August 23, 2026. So far, around 25,000 candidates have downloaded their call letters for the exam.
Exam Schedule
- Police Sub Inspector (Wireless) and Technical Operator: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm (200 MCQs)
- Police Sub Inspector (Motor Transport): 9:30 am to 12:30 pm (210 MCQs)
- Head Constable Driver Mechanic (Grade-1): 3 pm to 6 pm (210 MCQs)
Candidates will need to secure a minimum of 40 per cent marks separately in both Part-A and Part-B to qualify. Each correct answer will carry 1 mark, and a negative marking system will be in effect for incorrect answers.
AI And GPS Technology Deployed To Prevent Malpractice
To ensure the examination is conducted in a fully transparent and malpractice-free environment, the Gujarat Police Recruitment Board has put in place strict security arrangements. More than 1,100 police officers and personnel, along with around 1,500 education department staff, will be deployed for the exercise. A PI-rank officer will be stationed at every exam centre as the recruitment board’s representative. Additionally, the entire examination will be conducted under the supervision of the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner and chaired by a senior police officer of DIGP rank.

Facial Recognition Technology and AI will be used to prevent malpractice. All vehicles carrying exam material will be tracked via GPS and monitored from the state recruitment control room. The recruitment board has appealed to candidates who are yet to download their call letters to do so in time and to reach their respective exam centres well before time on the day of the examination.
