Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat’s Narmada district on November 15 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of development projects worth over ₹8,400 crore. The visit coincides with the national celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader and freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda, which will be held at Dediapada under Modi’s chairmanship
During his visit, the Prime Minister will also offer prayers at Dev Mogra Mataji Temple, a revered site among tribal communities. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Wednesday reviewed preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit in a state cabinet meeting.
PM’s Focus on Tribal Welfare and Inclusion
Government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani said Prime Minister Modi has consistently worked to bring marginalized and tribal communities into the mainstream. He highlighted that Modi’s emphasis on “Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi” (heritage and development) reflects his respect for the contributions of tribal leaders in India’s freedom struggle.
Vaghani added that it was Modi’s vision that led to the declaration of November 15—the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda—as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas since 2021, honoring tribal heritage and progress at the national level.
Over 5.95 Lakh People Join Janjatiya Gaurav Yatra
As part of the ongoing celebrations, more than 5.95 lakh people have participated in the Janjatiya Gaurav Yatra across 14 tribal regions of Gujarat. The yatra, organized under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, was launched on two routes—one from Ambaji and the other from Umargam—between November 7 and 13.
Officials said the initiative has received an overwhelming response from citizens, symbolizing unity and enthusiasm among Gujarat’s tribal communities ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit.
