Heatwave Grips Saurashtra-Kutch
The forecast from the Meteorological Department points to a heatwave sweeping through Kutch, Rajkot, Junagadh, and Porbandar. Across Saurashtra-Kutch, roads lie eerily empty as the afternoon heat intensifies, resembling a curfew. Residents are staying indoors to avoid the sweltering conditions, while those who step out seek relief in cold drinks.
Surendranagar has been baking since April 1, hitting a peak of 43°C on Wednesday, April 3, making it the state’s hottest spot for three days running.
Thick Fog Disrupts Dabhoi
In a surprising turn, dense fog descended on Vadodara’s Dabhoi region for the second time this week. Early this morning, visibility dropped to zero along the route from Dabhoi to the Statue of Unity, forcing drivers to switch on headlights and crawl through the haze. The fog, which lingered until late morning, caught locals off guard, disrupting daily routines and mimicking a rainy season vibe.
Areas like Dabhoi railway station, Vega, Shinor crossroads, Shinor Road, and SOU Road were cloaked in the thick mist, leaving residents stunned by the sudden shift from searing heat to foggy gloom.
