Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) began supplementary exams for Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) students on June 23. More than 2 lakh students were expected to appear across the state. However, heavy rainfall across several regions disrupted attendance, preventing many students from reaching exam centers.
In response, the state government has announced that it will reconduct supplementary exams for those students who missed them due to weather-related issues.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state education department issued a statement confirming that students unable to appear due to flooding, waterlogging, or transportation disruptions caused by rain will be given another opportunity.
Providing further details, Minister of State for Education Praful Panseriya said, “Several areas have been severely affected by rain, with water accumulation and transportation breakdowns making it impossible for students to travel. Recognizing these challenges, the education department will organize fresh exams for those who missed out after the current supplementary exams conclude.”
This move brings much-needed relief to thousands of students and their families impacted by the monsoon conditions.
