Ahmedabad: Election dates have been declared for by-elections to fill two vacant Gujarat Assembly constituencies. The Election Commission of India has announced by-polls for the Kadi and Visavadar Assembly seats, with voting scheduled for June 19 and vote counting on June 23. Both constituencies have been awaiting by-elections for an extended period.
The Kadi seat became vacant following the death of MLA Karsanbhai Solanki, while the Visavadar constituency fell vacant after Aam Aadmi Party MLA Bhupat Bhayani resigned from his position following his electoral victory.
It’s worth noting that after winning the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat, MLA Geniben Thakor had resigned from her Assembly position, leading to a by-election in the Vav constituency. However, the Visavadar by-election was delayed due to pending court proceedings.
