Gujarat Weather Update: As cold conditions grip Gujarat, with cities including Naliya experiencing frigid temperatures, weather expert Ambalal Patel has forecast unseasonal winter showers. According to his predictions, light rainfall is expected in Kutch within the next 24 hours.
Ambalal has issued a caution to farmers alongside his forecast. He has indicated the possibility of showers in Saurashtra and Kutch as the state’s weather pattern shifts, meaning Gujarat could experience dual seasons simultaneously. Temperatures are expected to drop by an additional 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next 48 hours. Ahmedabad is also expected to experience cloudy conditions. If these predictions materialize, January could bring severe cold weather. Today, Naliya in Kutch recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 12.6 degrees Celsius.
Farmers face weather uncertainty
Concerning news has emerged for Gujarat’s farming community. Weather expert Ambalal Patel has predicted winter showers following the development of a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan, which could trigger weather changes across Gujarat. This system is expected to bring unseasonal rain to parts of Saurashtra and Kutch. Simultaneously, weather conditions may change in North Gujarat, with cloudy skies anticipated over Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Additionally, forecasts suggest severe cold is likely to grip the state during January, raising further concerns.
Areas including Radhanpur, Suigam, Mehsana, Patan, Sami, Harij, Banaskantha, Disa, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Sabarkantha, Panchmahal, and Mahisagar are expected to experience weather changes between January 6-14. Severe cold conditions are anticipated from January 11-18.
Western disturbances to bring changes
Weather expert Ambalal Patel, forecasting cold weather patterns, stated that western disturbances becoming active over the next 24 hours could bring changes to Gujarat’s weather. Western disturbances will continue influencing weather conditions through March, with the possibility of unseasonal rainfall during this period. Some parts of Kutch may experience cloudy skies or light rain.
Meanwhile, areas including Central Gujarat, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, and Viramgam will also witness weather changes. He further stated that the state will experience heavy and severe cold around January 11 and again towards the end of January 18. Cloudy conditions are likely during Uttarayan as well. Fog is expected to cause delays in railway and air travel, with reduced visibility increasing the risk of accidents. Cloudy weather is expected around Uttarayan. On Uttarayan day itself, wind direction will change after noon, bringing a shift in weather conditions.
