Four Die On The Spot, Two Injured As Car Crashes Into Tree Near Dhoraji’s Supedi Village

Rajkot: A tragic road accident near Supedi village in Rajkot district claimed the lives of four men on the spot on Monday, while two others were seriously injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

According to preliminary police reports, the accident occurred when the driver of an Innova car lost control of the steering wheel near Supedi, close to Dhoraji. The vehicle, carrying six passengers, veered off the road, slammed into a roadside tree, and overturned. The group was reportedly en route to Upleta for a videography assignment.

Four passengers — identified as Kishorbhai Chandu Hirani (64), Vallabhbhai Dhirajlal Rundhani (57), Aftab Asif Pathan (19), and Mohammadbhai Sumra — all residents of Dhoraji, died on the spot due to the impact. The two injured, Rashmin Gandhi and Gaurang Rughani, were taken to Junagadh Civil Hospital for urgent medical care.

Locals rushed to the site upon hearing the crash and alerted authorities. Teams from the local police and National Highway Patrol arrived promptly to begin rescue operations and launch an investigation.

Initial assessments suggest that strong winds may have contributed to the driver losing control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal crash. A formal investigation is underway to determine the exact cause. The dead bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem reports. The accident has cast a pall over the community, with several residents mourning the sudden loss of lives in what was meant to be a routine journey.
