Controversy Arises As Vadodara Education Committee Schools Force Children To Fill UCC Forms

Parents And Children March To The Education Committee Regarding The Issue

The principals and teachers of various schools of Vadodara city’s education committee gave Uniform Civil Code forms to the children and instructed them to submit the forms after getting their parents’ signature on them. This incident has sparked a controversy.

Regarding the matter, the children and parents of the Muslim community took out a march today to the Education Committee, led by lawyer and social activist Ashfaq Malik. They submitted a petition to the administrative officer and demanded appropriate action.

They stated that the government primary schools of Vadodara have made it mandatory for the students to have their parents sign the UCC forms, thus taking their consent fraudulently, which is a misuse of the government schools.

Parents and children have demanded that an investigation be conducted in all municipality run schools, and legal action be taken against the principals involved in this process. They have also demanded to the UCC committee to not consider such forms. All these demands were presented to the administrative officer.
